1. In the topic, you will see some of the basic steps on how to go through the NJDOT SLD Sheet Viewer. 

 

Instructions to Pan Through NJDOT SLD Sheet Viewer 

 

 

Step 1: Select the route you would like to view

  • On the left-hand side of your screen you will see the option to select which category you would like to view.
    • This would include counties, interstate, and 500 routes
  • You then must select which SRI you want to view. This will also be shown in the left side panel
  • Once you have the previous two selected you can select the mile segments that are offered
    • depending on the route there will be multiple sets of milepost limits that you can chose from 

 

Step 2: Panning around the SLD Sheet

  • Going through the SLD sheet is easy, you can zoom in and out by either scrolling with your mouse or moving the scale bar by clicking and dragging
  • You can also click and drag anywhere on the sheet to pan around.  
  • You can change the legend/symbology of the sheet by toggling between the "SLD" and "TAMS" view
    •    
  • You can change the mile segments by switching between the scale levels
    •  
  • You can move between milepost segments by clicking the page arrows in the top left corner of the SLD section
    • This will automatically change the map as well


Step 3: Panning around the map feature  

  • Zoom in and out of the map by placing your mouse over the map and scrolling in and out.
  • Click and drag to pan to different sections of the map 
  • The "recenter map" tool will bring you back to the original placement of the map

  • The "move map to bottom" tool will allow you to switch the map frame to the bottom of the SLD Sheet Viewer.
    •  
  • The "Streets" drop down allows you to change the background or basemap of the map frame
  • The "map option" tool will allow you to change the color and style of the SLD routes
  • Realign the map to north
  • Turn on and off the geolocate to go to a different spot on the map and will open the SLD sheet associated with it. A purple dot will appear at the exact spot you selected on the map as well as the SLD sheet. By clicking the dot a pop up will appear with all of the information for that point
  • Turn on and off the other SLD routes that are available within the application
  • Magnification tool
    • Located on the left of the SLD sheet is the magnification tool. This tool allows you to view the SLD sheet in a magnified view at 1.5x, 2.0x and 2.5x.
  • The data located at the bottom of the SLD sheet can sometimes be difficult to read especially with big datasets. Clicking on the attributes in the table will pop up a screen with details and milepost of the attribute

 

  • Small diamond icons are located on some of the SLD sheet and can be clicked on to view an interchange diagram

 


  • The default shows the SLD sheet as the main part of the screen and the map above in a smaller portion. If you'd like to see the map as the main part of the screen, you can click and drag the map down to adjust the size. 

                                        

  • To view the most current version of the SLD data you can double click the NJDOT Version button at the bottom left of the screen



  • You can navigate to a route by changing the URL and specifying the SRI, Milepost, and Scale:

               https://njsld.org/NJDOT/SLD/SheetViewer/sri/milepost/scale


  • sri is the NJDOT SRI designation.
  • milepost is the milepost.
  • scale is the desired scale where 1 = 0.375, 2 = 0.750, 3 = 1.500, 4 = 3.000.
  • for example: https://njsld.org/NJDOT/SLD/SheetViewer/00000001__/2.1/1  will take you to route 00000001__ at milepost 2.1 and at a scale of 0.375

  • Reports – Printable PDF on mileage by municipality and jurisdiction

  • Video Log – Looks very similar to Sheet Viewer, here you can pick route and segment and view the video file

  • Data Browser – Browse through different aspects/attributes of the data collected 

  • Photo Book – Export photos based on category, SRI, Direction, Camera, and mileage.

  • Primary Video/Secondary Video – Same tool as video log, this will take you directly to the video log for whichever route you pick.  

  • Print SLD Sheet – prints SLD sheet to pdf for export.
