This article will overview how to add data that can be used for both the Sheet Viewer, and Data Browser. 



Getting set up


  1. First, you want to go to NJDOT Web Straight Line Diagrams
  2. Once you are in the site, you will need to sign into your account. If you do not have an account you will need to get that set up. 
    1. Click on this Icon to get to the sing in window
    2. Once in the sign in window type in your username and passwords 

    3. You will know the login was successful when you see your username appear in place of the log in logo



Importing Data file

 

  1. Click the drop down next to your username and select "Custom Data Sources"
    1. Once this page loads you will see all data that you have previously loaded
    2. You will see all information that is available about the data source
  2. Click "Create New" in the upper right hand corner to start your new data source
  3. Step 1 of Import: choosing your file
    1. Supported file types are Excel (*.xls, *.xlsx), Access (*.mdb, *.accdb), and Text (*.csv, *.txt)
    2. There are 4 things that you need in your file. SRI, Milepost Start, Milepost End, and Value
    3. Once you are sure you have everything you need in your file, click "Create New Custom Data Source"
    4. Browse to where your file is located on your computer 
    5. The name field will be filled by the file name 
    6. Fill in the description field and click upload 
    7. This upload could take some time, give it  a minute to complete
  4. Step 2 of Import: Mapping Table
    1. Once your table is selected and uploaded you have to map the columns 
    2. Go through each column and make sure that the correct table field is being paired up with the correct data field
      1. For example, "Milepost Start Column' should match your "MP_START" field
      2. You will know that your table has been created successfully when you get this pop up. This will give you a message saying the process is completed and if there are any errors with the data imported
      3. close out of the pop out and you will see your upload in your list of data sources
